Terms of Service

Enrollment
Enrollment is confirmed only after we verify your information and any required deposit is received. Enrollment does not guarantee class availability on a specific date; we'll contact you to confirm scheduling.
Payment
Tuition must be paid in full before attending classes, unless a payment plan has been arranged in writing. We accept credit/debit cards via Stripe. Fees are listed on each course page.
Cancellations & Refunds
- Before classes start: Full refund less a $25 administrative fee
- After classes begin: Pro-rated refund based on hours completed, less materials cost
- Defensive Driving: No refund after class begins
- Behind-the-Wheel: 24-hour notice required to reschedule without charge; missed appointments without notice are non-refundable
Student Conduct
Students must follow all safety instructions during behind-the-wheel sessions. Students under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be denied service and are not eligible for refunds. Disruptive behavior in classroom may result in dismissal from the course without refund.
Attendance
Texas TDLR requires specific attendance for course completion. Missed classes must be made up within the course timeframe. Failure to complete required hours means no certificate will be issued.
Liability
All behind-the-wheel instruction is provided in dual-control vehicles with a certified instructor. Students agree to follow all instructor directions and traffic laws. 1st Gear Driving School maintains appropriate insurance for instructional vehicles.
Certificates
Completion certificates are issued only after all required hours are completed and tuition is paid in full. Lost certificates can be reissued for a $15 fee.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
