TDE Online

Phase 1: 24 hours of 1st Gear online instruction — 12 days minimum at 2 hours max per day. Start and stop at your own pace. Phase 2: 14 hours behind the wheel (7 hours driving + 7 hours observing). Permit test available after completing online portion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both include the same 24 hours of instruction and 14 hours of behind-the-wheel. The classroom version meets in person Mon-Thu. The online version lets you complete the classroom portion at home, at your own pace (12 days minimum, 2 hours max per day).

You can start and stop at your own pace with a maximum of 2 hours per day. The minimum to complete is 12 days. After finishing online, you schedule your behind-the-wheel sessions with our instructors.

The base price of \$550 does not include the road test. You can add the road test for \$600 total, or choose to test at any DPS location.

The \$550 total breaks down as \$74 for the online classroom platform and \$476 for the behind-the-wheel instruction portion.
